Season Short Circuit Update

The 2026 Mondello Masters has now drawn to a close, with all the Championships finally decided after 5 rounds. The Premier County was well represented throughout all the Classes, with many of the Faugheen50 Supporters Club members excelling on the Mondello Tarmac in 2026. Carrick on Suir native, Michael Prendergast took top spot in the Classic Superbike class in real style, taking the overall championship with one round to go and freeing him up to compete in the Superbike on his Yamaha R1. Thurles man, Vincent Long took third place in the Classic Supersport Class, which not only went down to the wire, but Vincent’s trusty R6 developing mechanical issues, which meant Vincent had to jump on a borrowed bike, in the hopes of scoring points to take the final championship podium position, which he did with his Faugheen50 Club mate Shane Harding taking a very well deserved 6^th position in the Championship. Richard Hyland took the spoils in the Pre-Injection class, capping off a fantastic competitive season where he set the pace from the very first round until the final chequered flag. The Supersport 600 Championship took a dramatic turn on the final day, with the Tipperary rider, Oisin Maher pushing Adam Carey the whole way both in the Championship and in the final races of the Masters to fall just short of taking that elusive top spot in 2026, and finishing up in 2^nd place in the Championship. Chris Gray took 10^th place in the 400 class despite a season of concentrating on the roads, both North and South, however 2026 proved a very successful season for the Faugheen50 Supporters Club members and it was fantastic to see so many club members racing at Mondello Park in 2026, all learning their race craft and putting that experience against the cream of riders from all corners of Ireland, with Kody Purcell, Aidan Dooley, Daniel Murray, Austin McNally, Ben Mullane, all pushing for strong results in 2026, and setting their sights on trophies for 2027.
